Creating Abstraction

Soft Edge of the Blade

Dastan Gallery presents ‘Soft Edge of the Blade’, the first in a new series of exhibitions at No.9 Cork Street in London, from 3 February – 1 March 2022.

This free exhibition explores the ways contemporary Iranian artists handle and respond in their work to the many aspects of violence in the Middle East.

An artist versed in language and fluent in the art of quotation, Glenn Ligon’s inspiration and sources over the last three decades have ranged from high literature to stand-up comedy, from a single aphorism to an entire essay.

Nearly twenty years after her last solo exhibition in London, Thomas Dane Gallery is proud to showcase a rare presentation of works by Susan Rothenberg (1945–2020). The five paintings on show span almost the entire career of the groundbreaking American painter.
