Julien Rubat

Born 1980 | Lives and works in France

Julien Rubat’s work is influenced by abstract artists such as Clyfford Still, Simon Hantai and Rudolf Stingel. He creates formal paintings using superposed layers of paper and acrylic paint on large canvases. His latest series often displays palettes of strong, monochromatic colours in intricate and organic compositions.
