Ekaterina Dimieva
Born in Sofia, Bulgaria | Lives and works in Auckland, NZ

Ekaterina Dimieva explores differentiation and interference, conflicting intensities, and the state of becoming. Dimieva engages with the notion of painting being in flux, undergoing transformation and becoming multiple. The latest body of work is inspired by the topic of utopia as an escapist destination and a tool for examining our reality and its discontents. These visions of utopia offer an opportunity to view the world in a new light, and to suggest hope for an alternative future.
