James Tebbutt
Born 1980 | Lives and works in Northampton, UK

James Tebbutt creates paintings that continuously experiment and explore the materiality of paint. His process equally values accidental and spontaneous mark making with neat, refined visual references and motifs. His works incorporate imagery from a wide variety of pop culture, reflecting the abundance of visual stimuli in the world today. Working in a stream of consciousness, his paintings evolve without any pre-planned sketches, leaving the narratives open to a multitude of possible interpretations.
