Alice Cescatti (born in New Zealand) lives and works in England. She uses painting to express her life long fascination with the interaction between dramatic coastal landscapes and intense light. Materials such as gesso, clay and silver leaf, through a water gilded process visually express the reflective quality of light and water in her work.
Cescatti has exhibited at galleries around the world, including her first Solo Exhibition at Galerie Siret in Paris. Her semi abstract works often depict skies, deserted land and seascapes to express the feeling that nature is a majestic gift that we can tap into and celebrate the great power and energy of our natural environment. Cescatti has painted several series expressing her concern for the preservation of our oceans in her Ocean Wound Series, and her Reminiscence Series draws our attention to issues regarding Climate Change and the development in global or regional climate patterns affecting our natural environment. She has had both numerous Solo and Group Shows in London, throughout England, across Europe and America and her work is held in Public and Private Collections.
