Jessica Matier attended Parsons School of Design. In 2016 she departed from watercolor and collage practices to pursue a mixed media approach to abstract painting. Matier has exhibited in group exhibitions in New York City, New Jersey, Chicago, FSU Museum of the Arts, and The Other Art Fair, Brooklyn. In 2019 Rutgers University acquired the painting, Natural Things, on display at the Camden Center of the Arts. Matier was born in South Korea in 1985. When she was three months old, she was adopted and raised in New Jersey, where she currently resides.
