Josefina Ayllón
Josefina Ayllón (B. 1973 in Argentina) lives and works in Rome, Italy. Her work is the result of a struggle between fictional portraits and the physicality of paint. She is interested in painting itself as a bi-dimensional object. Colour, texture, and gesture are fundamental elements in her work. She mainly uses thick oil paint to express her mark making, and she is deeply attracted by the tangible presence that an artist has in a painting.
