Patrick Semple

Patrick Semple (b. 1990) lives and works in Los Angeles, California. He draws inspiration from urban and oceanic settings influenced by time spent outdoors, exploring the city, wilderness and desert areas on foot. A commentary on joy, pain and ecstasy of being alive, Semple’s work is a product of relinquishing attachment to expected outcomes, learning how to trust in the laws of nature to bring forth the relationships of colour to a surface. He has a Bachelor of Fine Art from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. He donates proceeds of sales to environmental causes, as well as to L.A. ‘s homeless population.
