Lu Villanueva

Lu Villanueva (born in São Paulo, Brazil) lives and works in Mexico City. Her creative process most starts with representation related to an image, and often incorporates architectural structures. Process, exploration of new materials and mixed media are always present in her work. Her work is an approach to collage and uses painting and photography to deconstruct and re-contextualise form and figure by adding layers and abstract geometric shapes. She is also a collaborator and co-founder of an art collective that supports female artists.
